Allan Ray Collett (72) departed this earthly life on Friday, August 6, in Odessa, Texas.

Visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with service to follow at 1:00 pm. Burial immediately after at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

Allan was born November 4, 1948, in Iraan, Texas, to the late Barbara Adams Collett Thurman and "Rusty" Lewis Collett. He was the eldest of three children.

After graduating from Andrews High School, Allan began his lifelong occupation in the oil field – working at Cabot, Bates and lastly at Key Energy.

He served in the Army as an ammunition specialist during the Vietnam War, where he was stationed in Germany.

Allan married LaDonna Greer Collett in 1999, blending their two families together.

Allan had a passion for history of all aspects; however, he was partial to military history. He loved to share his vast knowledge of history with any and everyone. His second passion was pocket watches, and he was never without one – even when the world turned to cellphones to check the time.

He was a prankster and was always ready with a good joke.

He is survived by his wife LaDonna Greer Collett; little sister Cindy Blake, husband Bill; little brother Adam Collett, wife Sue.

Squirrels: Daughter Karen Morris, husband Sean; Son Scott Collett, wife Mary; Stepdaughter Alicia Harshman, husband Jon; and Stepson Mike Green.

Grand-Squirrels: Darrian and Michaella Morris, Briana Delgado, husband Adrian, Reigh-Lynn and Brandon Neifert, Christian and Destiny Green.

Great-grand Squirrels: Lilliana and Gabriel Delgado.

Mother-in-law, Juanita Greer; many nieces and nephews, cousins and two Aunts: Lois and Jo.
