James R. Bruder
James R. Bruder, 75, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, May 21, 2006, after a year-long battle with cancer.
He was born Nov. 11, 1930, in Wheeling, W. Va. He graduated from East Washington High School in Washington, Pa., received his bachelor's degree from Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio; and his master's degree from Brown University in Providence, R.I. He served in the United States Navy and Naval Reserve for 20 years, and taught mathematics in the Akron Public Schools for over 30 years. He also worked part time at First National Bank of Akron, Norton branch, for over 15 years. After retirement, he and his wife spent many enjoyable years traveling in their RV.
Jim was a founding member of Faith Presbyterian Church of Akron, Ohio, and served as a ruling elder.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. H. Andrew Bruder. He is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Edana (Dina); his mother, Margaret; son, Mark (Beverly) of San Diego, Calif.; daughter, Jana (David) McClish of Akron; son, John (Suzanne) of Doylestown; and grandchildren, Adam, Sean, Andrew, Kaitlin, Matthew, and Aaron.
Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Services will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church, 2540 S. Main St., Akron 44319, on Thursday at 10:30 a.m., with Dr. Carl Bogue officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
