Raymond Leon Anderson was born October 13, 1926 to Nancy and Alvin Anderson in Tahoka, Texas. He married Barbara Stewart on September 5, 1948 in Seagraves. They spent 73 years together. Raymond served in the United States Army then switched to serve in the Air Force. While in the Air Force, he served in World War II for two years and was stationed in Germany. Raymond farmed in Brownfield, Texas and then moved to Breckenridge in 1964. He moved around working as a truck driver for several years before finally settling back in Breckenridge in 1987. He loved to fly, fish and hunt. As the years caught up, he slowed down to take it easy and started gardening. Raymond also enjoyed watching his doves and squirrels through the kitchen window while cooking breakfast. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Raymond had many names: Leon (to his wife, Barbara and close friends), Dad, Grandpa, and Uncle Pete to his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy and Alvin Anderson; two sisters, Inez Baldwin and Effie Rhinehart; and a brother, Milton Anderson.
Raymond (Leon) is survived by his wife, Barbara Anderson of Breckenridge; two children, Carolyn Tullos and husband Charles of Amarillo, Raymond "Buddy" Anderson of Breckenridge; four grandchildren, Susan Howard and husband Ted, Matthew Burros and wife Sharron, Lytisha Pugh and husband Mark, William Burros and wife Shara. He was also blessed with nine great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
