Johanna was one of 6 girls born to Peter Alfred Adam Jorgensen and Dorothea Cecile Prestien. She was a very strong woman as she had lost her mother before she was able to finally join the family in the US. Her older sister commited suicide in the Bronx at an early age and later after 19 births and many deaths, her husband Johannes hung himself in the barn. With all of that, she was a true matriach beloved by all her children and grandchildren.
