LON W. BRITT DIES.
Seneca friends were grieved to learn of the death of Lon. W. Britt, forty-one, assistant state treasurer, Topeka, who died suddenly Saturday evening at 6:30 at the home of his niece, Mrs. A. W. Baer, 3015 The Pasco, Kansas City, Missouri. He was a patient in the U. S. Veterans' hospital, 27th st. and The Pasco was trying to build up in preparation for an operation for internal goiter. He had suffered from heart trouble, presumably aggravated by the goiter, since the World War, when he was near death from influenza at Camp Doniphan.Feeling the need of a little exercise, he walked three blocks to his niece's home,. He expired suddenly after eating dinner.

When Carl White was elected State Treasurer, Lon was given the position of assistant and was able to carry o his work until four weeks ago when his superior urged that he seek rest and treatment.

Lon Britt, son of Robert and Christina Britt was born near Pawnee City, Nebraska just across the state line in January 1886. He spent his boyhood days in Seneca and was employed here prior to the removal of the family to Atchison. From Atchison he volunteered for service in Company F, 13th Infantry, 35th Division, in the World War. After the war he went to Council Grove, Kansas where he was married to Lenora Reece. Their home was in Topeka.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lenora Britt of Topeka; mother, Mrs. Christina Britt, Oklahoma City; his brothers, George C. Britt and Elisha Britt of Seneca; his brother and sister, John and Mabel Britt, of Oklahoma City; Ben Britt, DuBois, Nebraska; Elmer Britt of Los Angeles; Mrs. Sam Smith, Wilsey, Kansas and Mrs. Homer Preston, Atchison, Kansas.

George Britt was in Kansas City Sunday to make the arrangements for the funeral which is to be held tomorrow afternoon at three o'clock in Council Grove. Mr. and Mrs. George Britt and Elisha Britt went to Council Grove today to attend the funeral. It is expected that all the family will be there except Elmer of Los Angeles who has wired that he can not come.
