Martha Jane Daniel was born in Alabama about 1826. She married John S. Lambert in Coosa, Alabama, on July 8, 1851. Sometime around 1860 they moved to Anderson County, Texas.

Either John died or they divorced because she married Green Lee Wylie on June 28, 1863, in Anderson County where they apparently continued to live for the remainder of their lives. They had two daughters, Louhanie O'Quilla and Amy Emma. She and the two daughters are recorded as living with Green Lee in both the 1870 and 1880 Anderson County censuses.

Martha Jane's date of death and burial location are unknown. However, it should be noted that her husband, Green Lee Wylie, and both of their daughters are buried at Hopewell Cemetery in Anderson County.
