Eileen G. Schorpen, 67, Punta Gorda and formerly of Sarasota, died Sept. 25, 2005. She was born Oct. 23, 1937, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to the Punta Gorda area three years ago from Sarasota, originally moving to Florida from Long Island, N.Y., in 1994. She worked at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in housekeeping. She was a Baptist. She was the grandmother of the late Carlie Brucia. Survivors include her husband, Egil; sons Kurt of Sarasota and Paul of North Port; a daughter, Susan of Bradenton; brothers Kenneth Gundersen of Brooklyn, N.Y., John Gundersen of Glen Allen, Va., and Peter Gundersen of Kissimmee; sisters Nancy Tamaro of Punta Gorda and Joyce Zelma of Central Islip, Long Island, N.Y.; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jennings Funeral Home in Sarasota. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
