Paul George Healy, 60, of Fulton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday July 10, 2012.
He was born on January 13, 1952, in Syracuse, NY, to James and Catherine Healy.
Paul grew up in Syracuse, Niagara Falls and Williamsville, NY, then graduated from Jamesville-Dewitt High School where he found his passion for singing and acting.
After high school, he attended Paul Smith's College where he honed his skills as an accomplished chef.
He went on to earn his Certified Executive Chef's designation and was inducted into the American Academy of Chefs.
After many Executive Chef positions, far and wide, he worked for Aramark.
Paul then went on to work for SYSCO Foods in 2007, the largest food distributor in North America, as both a business review manager and in their marketing department.
Paul was wed to Andrea Castiglione in May of this year.
He was a valued member of the First United Methodist Church in Fulton and choir, where he was loved for his humor and compassion as well as his voice.
Paul was recognized as Chef of the Year by both the West Virginia and Rochester, NY, chapters of the American Culinary Federation.
He had also served as past president for both chapters and sat on their boards while mentoring many
Paul is survived by his father, James G. Healy; his wife, Andrea Healy; two daughters, Kelly and Jamie Healy; a brother, James J. Healy; a sister, Mary I. Healy; his aunt, Jean Kaczenski; a niece, Christine Perkins; a nephew, James A. Healy; as well as several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine (Kay) Healy.
The love Paul had for his wife, daughters, parents, big brother, little sister, other family and friends was evident in the light of his Irish blue eyes and endearing smile.
To paraphrase the words of Don Quixote: Paul's heart will lie peaceful and calm as he is laid to his rest. The world will be better for this, that Paul was a part of our lives and reached that unreachable star.
The family will greet friends on July 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. July 18 at the First United Methodist Church of Fulton, 1408 State Route 176, Fulton.
Chefs are encouraged to wear chef attire to honor Chef Paul.
