Lonnie B. "Buddy" O'Brien, 74, passed away October 15, 2016. He was born May 25, 1942, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Ossie B. "O. B." O'Brien and Kathryn Lenora Skinner.


Buddy served in the U. S. Army from 1959-1961 and was stationed in Germany.


He and his wife of 44 years, Martina, were married 28 April 1972. Buddy was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and cousin. He was self-employed as a cabinet maker. He was a very private person and lived his life on his own terms. He loved to fish and was an avid reader and frequent visitor to the Janet Harte Library in Flour Bluff.


Lonnie was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Gail O'Brien; step-son, Gerald Pettit; parents, O. B. and Lenora O'Brien; step-mother Violet E. O'Brien; sister, Holly Kathleen "Kathy" O'Brien; step-brothers, Tommy Bebout and Charles F. Bebout; and half-brother, Robert L. O'Brien.


Survivors include his wife, Martina O'Brien; step-son, James Pettit; granddaughters, Jadelyn, Elocin, and Aja Pettit; sisters, June Carter and Judy Hall; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Memorial Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2016, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with graveside inurnment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
