John K. "Pete" Snider

John K. "Pete" Snider, 87, of Fostoria, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, at Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore.

He was born June 5, 1935, in Lorain, to the late John Floyd and Arstella (Reed) Snider. He married Loleeta Russell, they later divorced, and she died July 8, 2011.

Surviving are three children, Diana Warrington of Michigan, Peggy (Thom) Loomis of Fostoria and Brian (Leslie) Snider of Texas; two daughters-in-law, Mindy Snider of Twinsburg and Deb Morrison-Snider of Middletown; 10 grandchildren, Devin Harvey, Kathryn (Harold) Weick, Joel (Jennifer) Snider, Amber (Mark) Moore, Stephanie Loomis, Brittany Loomis, Brian R. (Joy) Snider, Sidney (Bree) Snider, Kristina (Michael) Watson, and Genie (James) Fanjoy; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by two sons, John A. Snider and Joe Snider; son-in-law, Butch Warrington; siblings, Lavonne Cole, Delores Smith, and Richard Snider; half-sister, Linda (Don) Neiderhiser; stepfather, John Warrington; and longtime companion, Virginia "Ginger" Pierson.

John was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War era. He worked at Excello and owned the former Pete's Union 76 Gas Station in Bloomdale. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, attending sprint car races, fishing, camping, tinkering around, and thrifting.

Military honors and committal services will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, in the chapel at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia, led by United Veterans of Fostoria Honor Guard and the Rev. James Sharrett.

Memorial contributions are suggested to United Veterans of Fostoria Honor Guard in care of the funeral home.
