Mrs. Virginia Blair “Ginna” Dover Stroupe, 88, passed away at her residence at Covenant Village on Saturday, December 12, 2020. She was born in Gastonia on June 2, 1932, a daughter of the late Robert and Minnie Huss Dover. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 55 years, William L. Stroupe, and a brother, Adris. She is survived by her daughter Debra and her husband John Sigmon, Sr., her daughter Robin Davis, and her three grandchildren, Suzanne Heidenreich (James), John Sigmon, Jr. (Allison), and Jessica Winebarger (Kevin). She is also survived by a sister, Barbara Jenkins, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Stroupe was a successful realtor, co-founding Quality Homes. She was also an avid reader, a shrewd bridge player, and an excellent cook. However, the most important things in her life were her family and her church. She would do anything she could for her husband, children, and adored grandchildren or her beloved Parkwood Baptist Church, where she was proud of being a charter member.

The family would like to thank Ginna’s lunch group for the love and laughter during some difficult times, her card ladies for the friendship and comradery after Dad’s death, and the residents at Covenant Village for the acceptance Mom found there. Also, a special thank you to the wonderful staff in the healthcare area at Covenant Village. Their compassion was a blessing and gave us peace by being her family when we were not able to be with her. Thank you also to Hospice of Lincoln County for their support and care.

Due to the pandemic, a private family committal service will be held at Gaston Memorial Park.
