Ann Reed, loving wife, mother and Noni of Mesquite, TX passed away on December 8, 2020. She is reunited in Heaven with her soulmate and husband of 51 years, TJ Reed. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gene & Dora Hudson, brothers - Herman Hudson, Earl Hudson, Jake Hudson and Frank Hudson, Teddy Hudson and sisters - Mary Graves and Martha Martin, as well as her great granddaughter Cailee Hinkle. Ann is survived by children: Jody & Lynda Reed of Mesquite, Martha & Darin Russell of San Antonio, Adam & Jennifer Reed of Dallas and Amy Reed of Mesquite. Also survived by grandchildren & great grandchildren Melanie & Floyd Hicks (children Christian, Dakota & Eli), Tosha Reed & Cliff Ritter (children Maddox, Mackie, Landon), Todd HInkle & Anita Owen (children Jacob, Tyler, Thomas, Justin, Hailey), Matthew & Jessica Reed (children Paxton, Mason, Prestyn), Shelbe Russell & Ryan Taylor, MariJo Russell and Michael Reed. She is also survived by many cousins, neices and nephews.

Ann met the love of her life TJ in Odessa TX where TJ said he knew he would marry her the moment he laid eyes on her. He convinced her “he was the one”. He would call her “Baby Doll” and he was always, “Doll Baby”. Although he passed in 2009, Ann continued to carry the torch for the man that had always been her number one.
Ann was a homemaker that spent her days taking care of her family. She was a den mother for her son Jody’s Cub Scout pack and avid fan of his baseball and basketball games. She was a seamstress that was well known in Mesquite in the 60’s and 70’s as the “go to person” for Barbie doll clothes; creating her own designs and selling to the public. She made Martha and Amy’s clothes, Martha’s dance costumes and eventually used her sewing talents to make drill team uniforms for Pee Wee drill teams, cheerleading uniforms for several middle schools in MISD as well as unique outfits for several individuals that wanted that “one of a kind” outfit. Ann was the biggest advocate and cheerleader for all of her children and was very active in school events for each of them. She was a proud mama and bragged about all of her children and their accomplishments to anyone that would listen (and even to those that wouldn’t).

Ann & TJ spent many summers and weekends at a place they had at Lake Tawakoni with children Adam & Amy. These were special times, filled with wonderful memories that she would talk about for many years.

Ann, TJ and daughter Amy created a craft business “Fun Things by Ann” with the creation of wooden crafts as well as handmade outfits and would travel to many craft fairs all over. These were some of her happiest times in life, being able to show off her creativity and being with family.

Although Ann’s health had been declining over the last few years, she never lost her fighting spirit until the last few weeks battling Covid. She refused to believe she had it. Eventually her body wouldn’t fight anymore and she succumbed to this awful disease that was exacerbated with complications from COPD that she had suffered from for many years.

Ann will be missed by all who knew her. She is now dancing in Heaven with her beloved “T” and her angel Cailee. The party in Heaven has just begun!
