Edward King served during the Civil War in Unit F, 16th Kentucky Infantry. On 20 June 1863 he filed for an "invalid" pension so, apparently, he was disabled by either injury or illness during the war. King married late in life, to Lucy Ann (Reeves) King Rosenberg on 16 Dec. 1891, in Whitley, KY. Lucy applied for a Widow's Pension, based on Edward's service, on 16 Apr. 1894.
Lucy reverted to her married surname of King after she divorced her second husband, Lewis Rosenberg, a Russian immigrant.
