Marie E. Still, 86, of rural Atchison, KS, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2004, at her home.
Mrs. Still was born May 7, 1917, in Cummings, KS, the daughter of George and Maurine (Martin) Sanders. She attended Hawthorne Old Forty Grade School and graduated from Atchison High School in 1936.
She was a member of the Cummings Christian Church and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for 25 years. She was devoted to her family and friends and loved all animals.
She married Harry Francis Still on May 1, 1940, in Harrisonville, MO. He survives of the home. Other survivors include a sister; Lillian "Jinks" Hartman, a daughter-in-law; Vickye and two grandchildren; Susie & Larry Still.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Garry, his twin Larry and Carl Still; a brother, Billy Sanders; and a sister, Margie Baker.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cummings Christian Church with the Rev. Gary Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Cummings Cemetery. Visitations will be one hour prior to services Tuesday. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Monday at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial donations are suggested to Atchison Hospice and may be left in care of the funeral home.
