Olen Conroe was about ten years at the time and was of great help in the rearing of his seven brothers and sisters. Olen Conroe Beavers married Ella Enoyse Walton on February 3, 1934 in San Antonio and they were the parents of four children, Freddy Walton, Barbara Enoyse, Virginia Edith and Nancy Ann Beavers.
Olen Conroe was a route man for Bordon's Milk for many years, owned an ice cream factory and spent several years later as an insurance appraiser following a hurricane in New Orleans. He also did quite a bit of construction work as a private contractor before his death in 1975.
