Ensley was the son of unknown mother and William W. Davis Jr., born South Carolina, resided Benton/Calhoun County, Alabama. Brother of Reginer/Regina (Davis) Pogue, and Jasper Newton Davis. Ensley married Amanda C. Cannon 12 October 1854 Jacksonville, Benton County, Alabama. After Amanda's death in Brenham, Texas, Ensley married Brazoria Willis.
(Sarah as seen in 1850 census was widow of Richard Faulk, had at least three or four children with Richard, still do not know hwe maiden name tho)

CALHOUN County Local News
Died, in this city at 8 p.m. on the 3rd inst., E.P. Davis, aged 59 years. The deceased came to Breham (sic), Texas in 1867 from Jacksonville, Alabama and has resided here continually till the day of his death. He has been an invalid for the past three years and was confined to his house for the last twelve months. He leaves no family except his wife. (Actually a nephew John Wesley Davis plus more nieces and nephews). He was a bricklayer by trade and a contractor, having built a large number of brick houses in Brenham. He was honest and upright in all his dealings and was universally respected by all who knew him. Brenham council of A.L. of H. of which organzation he was a member, conducted the funeral obsequies on Monday; the burial took place at the city cemetery. Brenham, Texas Banner
