He and his sister, Christina, are found on the 1881 and 1891 censuses in Mountain Township, Dundas County, Ontario with the family of Thomas Armstrong and Anne Chittick. I suppose they were "home children". On the censuses, they both show surname Morrison, and both show born Scotland. He later was either adopted by the Armstrongs, or assumed the name of Armstrong.
