Lawyer and government official. Served as secretary under Asst. Secretary of the Navy Franklin D. Roosevelt from 1917-20 and later under U.S. Senator Alva Adams of Colorado. Also was an assistant U.S. Attorney for Colorado in the mid-1930s. Appointed by President Truman as a member of the District of Columbia Board of Commissioners in 1952 and served until June 1955. A leading Mason, Camalier was Grand Master for the district from 1952-53 and in 1949 was potentate of the Almas Temple Shriners.

Married in Washington on November 27, 1916, to Helen F. Edwards (1892-1975). Their marriage was childless .
