Jim served in the US Navy for almost ten years. He served as a Naval Jet Pilot overseas for most of his career. When he retired from the Navy, he and his family moved back to Cleveland where he flew as an Ag pilot. He then opened a lawn mower repair shop in Oxford, MS and finally retired. Jim and his loving wife, Marietta, have been happy and enjoyed traveling and spending fun times together. He loved his kitty cat, Fuzzdooz or Mook as he called her and also his daughters Susan & Tracy.
Those whom he leaves behind to forever cherish his memory include his wife of seventeen years, Marietta Martin Rutledge of Marks, MS; two daughters Susan R. Malatesta (Darrell) of Cleveland, MS; Tracy R. Roush (Eric) of Fenton, MO; two step daughters, Bobbie Tumlinson (Bud) of West Point, MS; Sara English of Lubbock, TX; six grandchildren, two step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one sister Martha R. Owens of Fairfax, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles & Dora Rutledge and one sister Patricia R. Didlake. They will all miss him, but grateful for their times together.
