Susie Alma Johnson was the fourth of the five children of John Hilmer and John Annie (White) Johnson and was born in Brownwood, Texas.
She married Alvie Anderson around 1920 and they were the parents of three childen, Eugene C., Truedna Lorine (Edna) and Jack Anderson. After the death of Alvie in 1952, Susie remarried with Alvie's brother, Sam, who died in 1964.
After the death of her daughter, Edna, Susie adopted and reared her grandson, Eddie Wayne Cooper. Susie also reared another grandson, Alvie Eugene Anderson, the son of her eldest child, Eugene C Anderson. Eugene C. Anderson never married so Susie played the role of mother to his child. Susie Anderson is buried in the Greenleaf Cemetery, along with many of her relatives.
