Ruth Sterley Arthur, 86, of 209 Merriman Rd., died Nov. 23 after a six-month illness.

A veteran of World War I, she was born in Ravenna, and lived in the Akron and Cuyahoga Falls area most of her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Akron, and was active in the Overseas Nurses' League. She was retired from the B. F. Goodrich Company, where she was head of the X-ray Department of the Hospital.

She is the widow of Dr. Walter C. Arthur, and is survived by a number of nieces and nephews in the Akron area.

Memorial services will be Sunday, 2 p.m., at the Sumner Home, 209 Merriman Rd., with Dr. Dennis Hartman officiating. Inurnment Rose Hill Burial Park. There are no calling hours. (Billow's, Fairlawn)
