His body is at the First National Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7 tonight. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Landry Catholic Church. Burial will be in the adjacent cemetery.
Savoie is survived by his wife, the former Ella Mae Theriot of Opelousas; seven sons, George, Rodney, Patrick, Larry, Gerald and Johnny Savoie, all of Opelousas and Marion Savoie of Port Barre; and four daughters, Mrs. Stacey Mayeaux of Mamou, Mrs. Jessie Soileau of Port Barre, Mrs. Robert Quebedeaux of Lake Charles and Melba Rose Savoie of Opelousas.
Also surviving are eight brothers, Albert, Eldridge, Ashton, Alvin, Harold, William, Thomas and Henry Savoie, all of Opelousas, and 11 grandchildren.
