Dorothy Lynne Philpot, age 72, lost her over fifteen-year battle with cancer on June 14, 2020. She was born in Houston, TX on February 8, 1948. Dorothy attended South Houston High School, raised her four children in Crosby, and later moved to Huntsville where she attended Sam Houston State University. She became a licensed chemical dependency counselor and dedicated her later years to helping others. Her motto was, “Love God, love people, and stay close to each other.” She retired in Spring to be close to family. Dorothy enjoyed gardening and animals, but she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Maedgen; sister, Carol Maedgen; and brother, Mike Maedgen. She is survived by her children, Brian and Christie Philpot, Becky and Ronnie Mosher, Matthew and Jessica Philpot, and Patrick and Kelli Philpot; grandchildren, Luke, Lila, Hannah, Zach, Madison, and Abigail; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Eickenhorst Funeral Services, 1712 N Frazier St #115, Conroe, TX 77301. The funeral service will be at 9:00 AM on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Houston Northwest Church, 19911 SH 249 Access Rd, Houston, TX 77070. Graveside and burial will be following immediately in Sterling White Cemetery in Highlands, TX.
