Margaret Hill McDonald McPhearson, a retired Hospital Materials Manager, died Friday, December 15, 2006 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson after a lengthy illness. Services are Monday, December 18, 2006 at 11 AM in the chapel at Lakewood Funeral Home. Visitation is Sunday from 3-5 PM and after 10 AM Monday. Burial is in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. McPhearson was born September 4, 1929, in Neshoba Co., MS. She was the youngest child of Martin Luther and Mary Alice Crosby Hill of Neshoba Co., MS.
Mrs. McPhearson moved to Jackson, MS in 1956 where she began working for the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She worked at Doctors Hospital, Womans Hospital, Methodist Rehabilitation Center and the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Most of those years were spent in Materials Management. She retired from UMC in 1992 as assistant Director of Materials Management.
She was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Martin Elmo Hill, Lee Breland Hill, Luther Wilson Hill and John William Hill, sisters: Grace Hill Lane, Iola Hill Mathias and Jean Hill Aaron, and her husband, James Rayford McPhearson in 2000.
She is survived by her son Thomas E. McDonald and wife Susan, stepson Mike McPhearson and wife Selwyn, grandsons: Robert Winston Brown, Thomas Corey McDonald, Scott Warren McDonald and wife Lief, and Keith Hill McDonald and wife Katie, Brian McPhearson and wife Jamie, granddaughter, Tracey McPhearson Land and husband Chris and great grandchildren, Thomas Cole McDonald and Savannah Kate McDonald. And a host of nieces and nephews.
