Port Clinton-

Joan M. Sweet, 65, Port Clinton, died Wednesday evening, June 15, 1999, in Firelands Community Hospital, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.


She was born in Monroeville, spent most of her life in Norwalk and was a 1953 graduate of Norwalk High School. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 41 Auxiliary and Eagles Aerie 711 Auxiliary, all of Norwalk. She was employed by Brown Derby in Sandusky for 24 years, retiring in 1996. She enjoyed reading, fishing and traveling.


She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Myron "Mike" Sweet; one son of Norwalk; one daughter of Monroeville; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Naomia (Robinson) Phillips.


Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today in the Jump Funeral Home, 109 Monroe St. Monroeville, where services will be 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Fred Wiechers of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Norwalk, will officiate.


Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk.


Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Building Fund, Norwalk.
