Diane Carmen Gomez-Pittman, 67, a resident of Arlington, died on Monday, January 23, 2017 at her home surrounded by family.


Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan 17, 2017 at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 E. Main Street, Grand Prairie, TX, 75050 with a Prayer Service at 7. Mass of Christian Burial: 12 Noon on Friday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2021 New York Ave., Arlington, TX, 76012. Burial: Johnson Station Cemetery.


Diane was born on September 22, 1949 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the daughter of the late Jose Maria Gomez and the late Trinidad Hernandez Gomez and the youngest of 9 children.


Fluent in Spanish, Diane would work many years as a bi-lingual teachers aide for the Arlington School District. She would serve at various schools, including Morton Elementary, James Bowie High School and the Newcomer Center.


She is survived by her husband of forty-two years, John Douglas Pittman; children, Daniel Martin Pittman, Rosalina Pittman, Jerry Pittman and his spouse Johanna; grandchildren, Jasmine, Avery and Christopher.
