CLEVELAND AARON DODD SR. was the son of Alex Franklin "Frank" Dodd and Mrs. Olar Jane (Lawrence Smith) Dodd.


He is the husband of Mrs. Adell Ledbetter (Stevens) Dodd.


Obituary

"Memorial services for Cleveland Aaron Dodd, 80, of 550 Southfield Lane, in Marshall, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Summit United Methodist Church. The Rev. Don Dodge and the Rev. John Tyler will officiate. Cremation arrangements are by Morgan Funeral Home. Mr. Dodd died at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2002, at Marshall Manor Healthcare and Rehab Center. Born February 17, 1921, in Harrison County, he was the son of Frank Dodd and Olar Lawrence Dodd. He attended Harleton public schools, and he was a retired welder for Brown and Root. On December 28, 1968, he married Adell Ledbetter, in Marshall. Mr. Dodd served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Summit United Methodist Church and the Disabled American Vets (DAV). He had worked as a barber and an iron worker. Survivors are his wife, Adell Ledbetter Stevens Dodd, of Marshall; one son, Cleveland A. Dodd Jr., of San Diego, California; two daughters, Jeanette Robinson and Alma Gonzalez, both of Marshall; three stepchildren and their spouses, Jack and Sharee Stevens, Carolyn Watson and Wanda and Danny Barrett, all of Marshall; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Arden, of Marshall; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers, Harvey Smith, Jesse Smith, Lee Dodd Riley and Carrol W. Dodd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Summit United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1942, Marshall, Texas 75671. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Marshall Manor Healthcare and Rehab Center and at Reliable Health Care Service -- for all the love and care that was extended to them."
