Andrew Fiedor, 92, of Hoovertown Road, Penfield, died at home on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, following a lengthy illness.

He was born February 2, 1919 in Glasgow, Pa., son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Babbit) Fiedor.

He married Mary P. Overturf on July 3, 1948. She survives.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and worked as a mechanic for Prince Gallitzin State Park until retiring in 1981.He enjoyed hunting, gardening and spending time with his family. He lived all his life in Glasgow and Penfield.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons; Joe and his wife Jeffrie Ann Fiedor of Bloomsburg, Jim and his wife Mary Ann Fiedor of Penfield, and Earl Fiedor of Penfield; one daughter, Karen Fiedor of Florida; two sisters, Josephine Apple of Glasgow and Verna Chilcotte of Glasgow; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Elvin Fiedor; three brothers, Joe, Walter and Frank Fiedor; and two sisters, Mary Kuhn and Annie Shope.

Funeral services for Andrew Fiedor are at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield. Military honors will be accorded by the Bennetts Valley Legion Post 978 Burial Detail.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
