Sister M.F. Pittman was born in Franklin County, GA., in 1813; married to Thomas A. Pittman in 1836; and died September, 1891. She was for the greater part of her life a consisten member of the M.E. Church, South, and one who, to the very end of her long life exerted an influence for good upon all with whom she came in contact. She was the mother of ten children, six of whom survive to mourn her loss. Four of her children and her husband preceded her to the glory land. She raised her family for Christ. All of her children but two were member of the M.E. Church, South. The Church at Chewalla, where she made her home at the time of her death, realizes that she has gone from labor to reward.
