Petty Officer First Class, Raymond Charles Altmas, U.S. Navy Ret. of Wakefield passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 10, 2019. Born August 13, 1951 in Grove City, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late George Daniel Altmas and Kathryn Horner Altmas. Ray had many passions in life. He loved to watch Indycar racing, listen to old rock and roll music and ride his motorcycle. He was an excellent chef and posted many of his delicious recipes online. His favorite past time was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Laura Sue Altmas; daughter, Kate Warren (James); son, Benjamin Zane Stewart (Jenny); stepchildren, Anna Marie Espinoza (Dario), John Carl Richter (Courtney), and Jacob Matthew Richter; grandchildren, Ella Warren, Kyra Warren, Hayden Warren, Hannah Stewart, Gavin Stewart, Nicholas Espinoza, Amelia Espinoza, and Johnny Richter; sisters, Barbara Kelly (Don), and Kathryn Lengel, and numerous friends.

A Celebration of Ray's life, with Military Honors, will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, December 21, 2019 at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel. Burial will be at a later date at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family would like to thank Mallory with Heartland Hospice for all she did for Ray to help provide him comfort.
