ALFRED GENE LOPER, 66, formerly of Eastland County, died in Big Spring. Mr. Loper was born in Eastland County and graduated from Morton Valley High School. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received two bronze stars and one silver star. He worked in construction and the oil field formany years and also was a farmer. He was a Baptist. He had three brothers, M.R. Loper of Kermit, A.C. "Buddy" Loper of Odessa and Wayne E. Loper of Midland; six sisters, Wynema Rogers of Grand Prairie, Alene Bailey of Lubbock, Imogene Harper of Austin, Gay Nell Tull of Wichita Falls, Dawn Rice of Las Cruces, N.M., and Yvette Overstreet of Roswell, N.M.;and many nieces and nephews. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.
