During World War II, she met a dashing young sailor named Clyde Harold Wall, while living in Portland, Oregon. They began dating when he was in port. When not in port, he sent beautifully worded love letters to her. She kept these love letters her whole life. Her son, Clyde Harold Wall, Jr. found the letters in an old cedar chest after her death. She and Clyde were married in 1946. Together they had children, grandchildren and great grand grandchildren who made her very proud.
