Aarons, Jean Yona, Age 89, a longtime resident of Pompano Beach, Florida passed peacefully in Pittsburgh on Sunday, August 11, 2019. Preceded in death by her parents William B. and Hilda I. Halpern-Aarons, beloved sister Marcia Joy Aarons-Deaktor and sister-in-law to the late Charles Leonard Deaktor. Aunt to Anne Beth Lenchner-McCarthy-Baker and husband Marvin Baker, Virginia; Scott Ivan Deaktor and wife Marsha Ann Deaktor, Pittsburgh; Carol Susan Deaktor-Mirsky and husband Brian Steward Mirsky, Boca Raton, Florida. Great Aunt to Charlie Hardin Mirsky and John Vincent Mirsky of Boca Raton, Charles “Chase” Leonard Deaktor II and William “Wills” Aarons Deaktor of Pittsburgh. With a degree of Interior Design in hand from Georgia Tech, Class of 1947, Jean joined the family clothing store, “Aarons Village”, Mc Rae, Georgia. Through her keen skills she was able to expand the business, diversify its offerings and featured apparel for all genders at all ages. She was a true maverick for her time. Following the passing of her father William B., she and mother Hilda eventually relocated to Boca Raton, Florida where Jean became fascinated with real estate and began a new career. Always beloved by all, Jean had a golden heart. She enjoyed people and people enjoyed her. Immensely family-oriented, she and her sister Marcia remained ever so close. Their bond was a God-given blessing.
