Emilio H. Gil Jr. born October 6,1931 passed away July 14, 2014. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Flores Gil; siblings, Eugene Arispe, Richard Gil and Beatrice Soto. Emilio will be greatly missed by his children, Richard Gil, Ronald Gil, Rene Gil and Rochelle Gil; grandchildren, Richard Emilio Soto Gil, Maryssa Elizabeth Teran, Meriah Elaine Teran, Marisela Elia Teran; great grandchildren, Luka Eulalio Gil and Ever Ila Gil. Emilio was a loyal loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who cared about his family and his community. Emilio was a printer for over thirty years until his retirement from Chas P. Young Printing Company f/k/a Fidelity Printing Company. He was involved with his community through many organizations and groups such as; the Boy Scouts of America, Knights of Columbus Council number 2917, Orale Vatos, Harris County Tejano Democrats (cofounder of the Mexican American Democrats), St. Patrick Church Young of Heart, LULAC, PASSO, La Raza Vida and The Old Timers Club. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Brookside Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2014 at St Leo Catholic Church. Rite of burial will be at Brookside Memorial Park.
