He proudly served his country in the US Army. After finishing his apprenticeship as a Master Mason, he moved to Colorado Springs with his family in 1957. Luke was a businessman and entrepreneur. He owned and operated Allen Masonry for over 40 years. Luke loved all the Colorado outdoor activities, especially fishing, scuba diving, camping and hunting with his family and grandchildren.

Luke loved the sport of bowling after his wife got him started in the mixed leagues in the late 1950's. He was an excellent bowler and won every achievement with the city tournaments. He also traveled and competed in several national tournaments in the 1970's.
