Mrs. Sigrid Score passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Olson of Tilden, Nebraska, November 27, 1927. She had been seriously ill for three months, the last ten weeks of which was spent at the John Olson home.
The deceased was born at Calmar, Iowa, January 22, 1855 and at her death was 72 years, 11 months and 6 days old.
She was united in marriage to Andrew O. Score in 1875. He preceded her in death two years ago on October 15, 1925.
In 1877 two years after they were married, they came to Nebraska and homesteaded in North Branch, enduring all the trials and hardships of pioneer life.
Their union was blessed with eight children, one, Oliver, dying in infancy. Those who remain to mourn the loss of a good Christian mother, who was always patient and self-sacrificing, are as follows: Mrs. M. Thorberg, Mrs. K. Fernberg, Emma Score, Mrs. John Olson, Oliver, Anton and William Score. She also leaves two brothers, C. T. Estrem of Petersburg, Neb., and A. T. Estrem of Calmar, Iowa, and one sister, Mrs. G. G. Haugen of Northfield, Minn. One brother and one sister having preceded her to the great beyond. She also leaves twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was patient through all her intense suffering and did not complain, looking forward always to the great glory she was to enter into. Longing to go, but willing to abide by the Lord’s will.
The remains were taken to her home in North Branch where she had resided for the last fifty years and funeral services were conducted there and at Our Saviour’s church by Rev. Turmo, after which she was laid to rest beside her husband in Our Saviour cemetery.
