On June 3, 2019, at 11:22 a.m., Wanda K. Ludlow, 65 years old, passed away in Huntington surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Kentucky on September 9, 1953, Wanda was the daughter of the late Homer and Zella (Richardson) McKinney.

In 1971, Wanda graduated from Mississinewa High School, but it was also the year when she married her high school sweetheart, Frederick W. Ludlow, Jr., on June 1, 1971. Together, they had two children, Heather and Jake. They enjoyed nearly 43 years with each other before he passed away on April 20, 2014.

Wanda was a machine operator at United Technologies, retiring in 2017. She loved the simple things in life, had a love for animals, enjoyed taking walks in the woods, as well as reading and watching birds. She definitely had a “green thumb” and her flower garden was evidence of that. Serving her family was one her greatest joys in life. She enjoyed cooking for everyone, and going to “Mom’s” and “Grandma’s” house to visit and eat her tasty meals, especially her chicken-n-noodles and dumplings, is a memory the family will hold dear to their hearts.

She will be greatly missed by her significant other, John Bates, Huntington; daughter, Heather (Mark Shultz) Travis, Huntington; son, Jake (Michelle) Ludlow, Gas City; grandchildren, Amber (Brooks Householder) Newsome, Lacey (Nickolas) Guhl, Olivia (Jonas Smart) Newsome, and Lillian Ludlow; great-grandchildren, Clarity Travis, Wesley Hanson, and Paisley Householder; siblings, Jan (Don) Shipley, Valerine (Mark Alva) McKinney, Brenda (Pedro) Cisneros, Hank (Candy) McKinney, Christine (James) Darnell, and Randy McKinney; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son-in-law, Michael Travis; three infant nephews; father-in-law, Fred W. Ludlow, Sr.; and mother-in-law, Neomi Ludlow.

The family will have a memorial visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
