Mrs. Eddings had resided in Lufkin most of her life. She was the owner of Eddings Grocery in Redland and Eddings Drilling Company, but the most important job in her life was being a mother. She loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, having a vegetable and flower garden. She especially loved working in her flower beds. Other hobbies and talents included sewing, quilting, embroidery and stitching. Mrs. Eddings was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Jerry and Noel Eddings, Jeannine and Fred Phillips, Margie Simms, Joe Ed and Leigh Anne Eddings, and Margaret and Lawrence Purke; numerous grandchildren and their spouses; 30 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mattie Sweetser; and numerous nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd Eddings, Sr.; sons, Calvin Lee Eddings and Lloyd Eddings, Jr.; brothers, Buford Sweetser, Oscar Sweetser, Perry Sweetser, and RV Sweetser; and great-granddaughter, Casey Boles.
