Based upon the 1860 NC Census, Elizabeth was born about 1842.

Elizabeth Carroll married John Wesley Standridge on 23 Jul 1855 in Cherokee Co., N.C. John was born about 1829 in Macon County, NC. As known, John died in Murphy, Cherokee County, NC.

The 02 July 1860 Cherokee County NC (Murphy) Census shows Elizabeth is 18 (born 1842), living with husband John, and children Elijah and Caroline who were born in Cherokee NC. Also with them are John's parents Elijah (60, born Macon NC) and Polly (50, born Lincoln NC).

The 14 Jun 1880 Cherokee County NC (Shoal Creek) Census shows Elizabeth was widowed and born about 1833 (age 47). With her are her children Elijah, Dulcena, Nancy, Monroe, William and Elbert. The 01 June 1900 Cherokee County NC (Shoal Creek) Census indicates Elizabeth was age 65 and born June 1834. Children Elbert and Nancy are living with her. It shows of the 7 children she had, all 7 were still living.

In the 15 Apr 1910 Monroe County TN (Civil District 14) Census, Elizabeth is age 72 (born 1837; looks like they had 62 and changed to 72). Living with Elizabeth are her children Elbert and Nancy. It shows that 6 of her 7 children are living. More than likely, the 1860 Census is more accurate regarding when Elizabeth was born. An 1870 Census wasn't found, but suspect the anomaly in her age started with that census.

Note: Elizabeth passed away in 1910. Elbert married in 1915, but was only married a short time. The 10 Jan 1920 McMinn County TN (part of second district) Census shows Elbert was working as a cook on a shanty car (Elbert was a cook per his death certificate). Shanty cars were part of the logging camps of the day. Elbert and Nancy were lodging with Wisley Cane and wife Rhoda (on Manila Road). In 1930, Elbert and Nancy were living in Englewood, McMinn County TN (ages off, especially Elbert). Nancy later moved to Polk County TN (1940 living with niece Bessie (Suit) Bruse and Bessie’s father “Bud” Suit).
