John, 73, Murray, KY, died at Murray-Calloway Co. Hospital.

He was the son of William Levi and Martha Jane (Michael) McDonald. On Sep 15, 1966, in Westerville, he married Joyce Ellen Kennedy, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Kelly (Dr. Jeff) Chivington, St. Marys; a son, Jon E. (Shanna) McDonald, Cicero, IN; two brothers: Dr. William McDonald, Charles, WV, and Gordon McDonald, Columbus; a sister, Shirley Blair, Bradenton, FL; half-sister, Patty McDonald, Mansfield; mother-in-law, Thelma Kennedy, New Lexington; two sisters-in-law: Gloria (Richard) Wells, New Lexington, and Maria (Gary) Bowshier, Shawnee; and seven grandchildren.

A graduate of Wilmington College with a Master's Degree in Organization and Communication, he proudly served his country in the Ohio National Guard. He retired from the Murray State University, where he served as Director of Marketing and Public Relations. His favorite pastimes included rebuilding and restoring antique radios and automobiles and was a fan of University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball program.

Services will be at the Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, with the Rev. Keith Stuck, officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
