Jon Michael Lewis, son of the late Jon Marion Lewis and Selina C. Lewis was born in Camden, New Jersey on June 11, 1955. He was the first born of two children. Mike was educated at Parkside Elementary, Moorestown Friends School, The Cinnaminson Alternative School and attended Stockton State College. Michael attended St. Augustine with his parents and was taught religious studies by his dear Aunt Emily Brown. He joined the Cub Scouts, advancing to Boy Scouts before convincing his parents that he had enough of the scouting experience. At age 12 Michael became enamored with cameras. He read photography books to perfect his craft as well as enrolling in formal photography classes. To this day, his work exceeds the quality of photography found in stores. Michael’s intellect and creative eye made him an extraordinary photographer and writer. His ultimate goal was to pursue a career in the field, when he opened his studio in Palmyra, New Jersey, during his 20’s

Michael’s knowledge seemed endless, as if he knew something about everything. He was quick to help and share his knowledge with others. Michael was an avid reader and a skilled writer. He was known for his quick wit and sarcastic sense of humor. He loved to joke around, tease, and make people laugh. Michael loved his mother and younger sister, Yvette. Family brought Michael joy, and throughout his hospital stay, they would bring him his favorite snacks, as well as his favorite action hero, Iron Man. Michael departed this life on February 13, 2019 after a 3-year battle with cancer.

He was preceded in heaven by his father, Jon M. Lewis. He leaves behind to cherish his memory; his mother Selina C. Lewis, sister Yvette Lewis & Michele Cressman, his Aunt Eunice, Aunt Emma, Uncle James, and a host of cousins, friends and extended family.

Interment: Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
