Hermelinda Lopez Carrillo born on July 8, 1928 in San Marcos, Texas went to be with the lord on December 31, 2018 at the age of 90. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis M. Carrillo; son, Jesse Sanchez; parents, Juan and Maria Lopez; grand-daughter, Mary Helen Hernandez; brothers, Guadalupe Lopez, Juan Lopez Jr. and sisters, Frances Camargo and Celedonia Lopez.
She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Hernandez and Linda McClain; sons, Louis M. Carrillo Jr. and Daniel Carrillo (Lillian Gaona); sisters, Esther Deleon and Glafira Martinez; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
She was a great cook who loved to laugh and enjoy the presence of her family. Mrs. Carrillo was able to make friends with everyone who came into her life with her loving, supportive and hardworking personality. After she retired, she worked as a hospice caregiver, being compassionate and loving to each one of her patients. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM in the Hillcrest Chapel. Procession will depart Hillcrest Funeral Home on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 9:30 AM for 10:00 AM Mass at St. Luke's Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
