ester Marvin Arhelger died December 31, 2018 at the age of 92 years. He was born August 18, 1926 to Bertha Lydia Koenig Arhelger and Alfred Robert Arhelger in Fredericksburg, Texas. He is preceded in death by five siblings, brothers: Alberto Arhelger, Clifton Arhelger, and Vernon Arhelger, and sisters: Dorothy Rennie Lucas, and Bertha Nell Jung. He is survived by two sisters: Merlene Alice Childers of San Antonio and Louise May Brown of Cantonment, Florida. Lester married his wife of sixty-four years, Dorothy Becker Arhelger in 1947 in Fredericksburg, Texas. She preceded him in death on June 26, 2012. They had twelve children: Ida McCoy of Houston, Margaret Eckerman Barrett (deceased) of Victoria, Marvin Arhelger of San Antonio, Theresa Arhelger of San Antonio, Anthony Arhelger of San Angelo, Doris Kennedy Hagler of San Angelo, Rita Graham of Corpus Christi, Francis Arhelger of Houston, Edward Arhelger of San Angelo, Peter Arhelger of Houston, Mary Droll of San Angelo, and Lisa Cortez of San Angelo. Shortly after Dorothy’s passing he was invited into the home of his son, Anthony and wife, Kathy, and was surrounded by their family. There, one special pleasure he took was in sharing time with his birthday twin, a young great-grandson. During the last few months he resided in the care of Cedar Manor Nursing Home in San Angelo and received hospice care through Gabriel Hospice of San Angelo.

In lieu of flowers donations might be made to the Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church Building Fund or any cause of choice.
