Billie Jene Bridges was born September 25, 1927 in Dallas, Texas and left this earthly home on November 19, 2018 in Rowlett, Texas. She was born and raised in Dallas, TX. She was one of eleven children in her family. She spent her school years in the Dallas Independent School District. She married the love of her life, Jimmy Bridges, on June 10, 1946. Billie worked as a secretary for the Vice President of Texas Power & Light for many years until she and her husband, Jimmy, purchased a ranch in Canton, TX , where they lived for many years. She was a very active and devoted member of First Baptist Church of Rowlett, enjoyed going and praising the Lord, participating in the activities that her class participated in and had a green thumb for gardening.She also loved playing canasta with her friends at the community center. Billie is preceded in death by her devoted husband, James Edward Bridges; parents, John and Ola Inez Overturf; siblings; Oliver, Sylvia, Helen, Margarite, J.B, Johnny, Francis, Virginia and Roy. She is survived by her loving child, Brian Bridges and wife, Beth; grandson, Cole Bridges and wife, Jamie; great-granddaughter, Parker Bridges; sister, Dorothy Mason along with numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Rowlett, 4309 Main Street Rowlett, Texas 75088, at 2pm with visitation the hour prior. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in memory of Billie Bridges to First Baptist Church of Rowlett.
