Penny D. Bortell-Danner, 71, of Mason City passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria.
She was born September 29, 1947 in Bath to Howard and Elizabeth DeWeese Dobson. She married Michael L. Danner Sr. October 13, 2018 in Mason City; he survives.
She is also survived by her children, Brett Vance, Beth (James Giddens) Vance, Mary Vance; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and siblings, Buck Dobson and Buddy Dobson.
Her parents; daughter, Tammie Ramsey and sister, Bonny Smith preceded her in death.
Penny worked for Bethesda Lutheran Home; retiring in 2010. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, archery, crocheting, painting ceramics, collecting Native American items and gardening. She deeply loved her family and she will be greatly missed. Cremation has been accorded and a private family graveside service will be held in the Bath Cemetery at a later date.
