He was born on October 13, 1922 in Canada to Martin and Selma Setran.He spent most of his childhood in Los Angeles and served in the United States ARMY during World War II, later worked as an engineer and broadcaster in Radio and then retired from the United States Civil Service. In his earlier years he was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing, loved to dance and listening to the Big Bands. He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Virginia Varney Setran. Joseph is survived by his son, James M. Setran and wife, Roselyn; his granddaughter, Amanda L. Setran; and his sister Doris Goss. He will be laid to rest at the Miramar National Cemetery as per his request.
