Harry Rogers Funeral Friday
Harry Beckwith Rogers, formerly of Delhi died Tuesday evening at Sunwood home here where he had been a resident seven weeks. He observed his seventy-seventh birthday Monday.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Delhi Presbyterian church with Rev. Robert Chalmers, pastor, and Rev. Robert Baxter, pastor of First Presbyterian church, Redwood Falls, officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Richard and James Rogers of Igloo, S.D., Leland and Edwin Rogers and Earl and Jerome Rogers of Minneapolis. Interment will be in Redwood Falls cemetery.
Hoepner Funeral Home here is in charge of arrangements and friends may call there beginning this evening, or at the church in Delhi from noon until the time of the service.
Mr. Rogers was born at Wolcott in White county, Ind., November 12, 1885, a son of George and Sarah (Britton) Rogers, and attended school there. He was 16 when the family moved to the Dodge Center area and he married Myrtle Mae Abel at Mantorville October 3, 1907. They lived in Iowa a few years, then were at Morton and North Redwood before moving to Delhi where they lived 21 years. He was section foreman for the Minneapolis and St. Louis railroad 32 years and continued to live in Delhi after he retired in 1949. His wife died November 1, 1952.
Children who survive are Leslie and Earl of Minneapolis, Maurice of Igloo, S.D., Harold and Mrs. Philip (Mazie) Owens of Redwood Falls and Leona Rogers of Minneapolis. Two sons preceded him in death, Orval in 1944 and Harry Melford in 1958.
Also surviving are 16 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Van Rogers of LaCrosse, Wis., and two sisters, Mrs. Josie Carmody of Mason City, Iowa, and Mrs. Laura Schuder of Sacramento, Calif.
