Daughter of Thomas K. Tune & wife Milly King of Halifax County, Virginia, Mary Elizabeth married Adam J. Ahart on 20 September 1822 in Patrick County, Virginia.

Mary was the granddaughter of Traverse & Frances Tune & Henry & Sibellah Talley King, also of Halifax County, Virginia.

Mary & husband Adam Ahart left Virginia and lived for some years in Tennessee prior to migrating to Missouri. They had six known children.
