William Gordon Askew was born March 17, 1925, in Ferris, Texas, to Lyndon Max and Julia Marie Askew. He attended Ferris High School and University of Texas in Austin and remained a huge Texas Longhorn fan for the rest of his life. Gordon was also a WWII Veteran and a member of Park Cities Baptist Church. On February 15, 1952, he married Alice Hill of Gilmer in Ferris, Texas. He has lived in Preston Hollow for over 65 years.

Gordon passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018, in Dallas, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Askew, of Dallas; daughter, Deborah McCulley of Katy, Alicia Weinstein and her husband Jack of The Colony, and Lori Wingrove of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law, Jenell Askew of Austin; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; his beloved dog, Shelby; as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyndon and Marie Askew, and brother Robert Edward Askew.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Park Cities Baptist Church, Ellis Parlor with Nat Burns officiating.
