Barbara Nell (Wohn) Aaslestad, 63, of Staunton, Va. died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at home.

She was born Sept. 8, 1937, in San Antonio, Texas, daughter of the late Frederick and Nell Kramer Wohn.

She attended Louisiana State University and earned degrees in microbiology and medical technology. She was employed by the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md. She retired from Yale University School of Medicine where she was an office manager. She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church of Staunton.

She is survived by her husband, Halvor Aaslestad; three daughters, Katherine Lambertson, of Morgantown, Karen Aubouy, of Geneva, Switzerland, and Lauren Massey, of Smithfield, N.C.; a son, Peter Aaslestad, of Staunton; seven grandchildren, Morgan, Raef, Alaine, Cecilia, Jessica, Juliette and Samuel; and two brothers, Fred and Robert Wohn.

Service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at the Trinity Episcopal Church, Staunton, with the Revs. John Lane and Bruce Geary officiating. Burial will follow Monday in Thornrose Cemetery.
